-
We’re located in Twin Peaks, California, in the San Bernardino Mountains about 10 minutes from Lake Arrowhead and Crestline.
We’re approximately 90 minutes from Los Angeles and two hours from San Diego, making The Perch an accessible mountain escape for Southern California groups.
-
The Perch has 21 bedrooms and 26 beds across our cabins, with capacity for groups of up to approximately 45 guests depending on the cabin configuration and sleeping arrangements.
Your exact capacity will depend on your group’s needs, so we’ll help you determine which cabin combination works best for your retreat.
Retreats
-
Almost anything you can dream up.
We can host groups for creative retreats, writing gatherings, wellness experiences, workshops, team retreats, forest therapy, community gatherings, gaming weekends, couples’ retreats, and more.
We’ve hosted shuffle dance retreats, fiddle camps, writer’s retreats, church retreats, company offsites, and more!
If you have a retreat idea, reach out. We’re happy to talk through what might work on the property.
-
Not at all.
You can come to us with a fully developed retreat or simply an idea.
We can help you think through dates, group size, cabin configurations, gathering spaces, and what the property can accommodate as you develop your plans.
-
Most retreats are structured as multi-night experiences, giving guests enough time to settle in, connect, and enjoy the property without feeling rushed. Our retreat packages start at two nights but many of our retreat leaders find that a three-night retreat is the perfect amount of time for a group to settle in and fully feel like they are on retreat.
-
We typically require a two-night minimum however sometimes, if we have availability and depending on the season, we allow one-night stays. Reach out to our Retreats Director at events@theperchattwinpeaks.com to inquire!
Gathering Spaces
-
The property includes several spaces that can be incorporated into your retreat:
Cabin 13
A 3 bedroom cabin perfect to be used as the hospitality and gathering hub, with a porch and space for meals, sessions, conversation, and connection. The Barn
A flexible 425-square-foot indoor gathering space with a front patio and back patio. It can be used for workshops, meetings, classes, meals, and other group activities. The Deck
A 700-square-foot outdoor deck tucked beneath the trees is ideal for yoga, movement, meditation, morning sessions, or simply gathering outside. And, of course, there are the cabins, porches, outdoor spaces, and almost 4 acres of forested property to explore. Many of our cabins have large living rooms perfect for breakout sessions!
-
The Barn is 425 square feet indoors. The appropriate setup and capacity depends on how you're using the space (seated meals, yoga, workshops, meetings, etc.) so we'll help you determine what configuration makes sense for your group.
-
Absolutely. The Deck is particularly well suited for yoga, meditation, movement, and morning sessions.
The Barn is also an option however it does have concrete floors.
We offer yoga mats & blankets for rental as well.
-
Yes. Quiet hours begin at 9:45 PM.
We want groups to have a wonderful time while also respecting the mountain setting and our neighbors. Small-scale morning programming with a speaker is generally fine, but amplified music and late-night events aren't permitted.
Food & Catering
-
No. The Perch does not have a commercial kitchen.
However, groups are welcome to work with outside caterers and food vendors who are appropriately equipped and permitted for their services.
Private Chefs do work on site and prefer Cabin 13 or Cabin 1. The only dishwasher onsite is in Cabin 1.
-
We do not. Your private chef or caterer will be able to work with you for serving needs, catering supplies and linens. Our cabins are outfitted with dishware for the amount of guests that can stay in that particular cabin. For retreats, we require that you work with your private chef or caterer to ensure that you have the dishware needed as we do not allow dishware to be moved between the cabins.
-
Yes! The Lettered Shell is The Perch's culinary partner and offers private chef services for retreats.
Depending on your group's needs, services can include menu planning, grocery shopping, cooking, serving, snacks, and cleanup so you as the retreat leader and your guests can focus on the experience rather than the kitchen.
Ask us about adding retreat catering to your package.
-
Yes. Outside caterers and vendors are welcome, subject to The Perch's requirements and approval.
We can also connect you with food-service options if you need help figuring out meals for your retreat.
-
Of course! We do recommend that you bring serving platters and anything you need to cook with beyond what is expected to find in a cabin rental.
Planning Your Retreat
-
The Perch provides the venue and support associated with your booking, but we do not automatically include a full-service retreat planner or event coordinator.
If you need help with additional planning services, let us know what you're looking for and we'll help you understand what options may be available.
We do recommend that retreat leaders have administrative support for their retreat.
-
Pricing a retreat can feel like one of the hardest parts of planning but it becomes much easier when you start with the actual cost of creating the experience. Each of the retreats hosted at The Perch have priced their retreats quite differently because the offered experience is very different.
Because The Perch has a variety of cabins with different sleeping arrangements, it allows you to offer different price points to your attendees.
The simple math of retreat pricing is Total retreat expenses ÷ number of attendees = your cost per person
From there, add the amount you need to cover your time, planning, business expenses, and profit. For more support, ask us for examples of other retreat pricing.
-
Yes. Outside vendors are welcome, subject to The Perch's guidelines and approval.
This can include caterers, instructors, facilitators, photographers, wellness practitioners, and other retreat professionals.
-
Yes, within our property guidelines outlined in your contract.
We want you to be able to make the space feel like your own while protecting the historic cabins and natural environment. We'll provide any applicable guidelines when you book.
-
Of course!
-
The Perch is designed to give your group space to create its own experience. While we don't have a set list of on-site activities or an activity program, there are plenty of ways to spend your time here from gathering around the fire and enjoying the outdoor spaces to yoga, meditation, workshops, games, creative projects, and simply exploring the property.
Retreat leaders are also welcome to build their own activities and programming into their stay. Depending on your retreat, you can bring in instructors, facilitators, wellness practitioners, photographers, or other outside vendors to help create the experience you envision. We have a list of local practitioners that offer sound baths, yoga, forest bathing, herbalism classes, and more that you can build into your retreat.
And when you want to venture beyond the property, The Perch is just minutes from Lake Arrowhead and surrounded by the San Bernardino National Forest, giving your group plenty of opportunities to explore the mountains.
