Writer’s retreats.
(A great place for all artists)

“I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.
Henry David Thoreau

If you are an artist, you know how important it is to escape the stresses. distractions and superficiality of every day life.

Why is The Perch so special to writers and other artists?
Because it's quiet simplicity doesn’t dictate what is pretty or trendy or cool. It’s just the surrounding woods and your a comfy cabin. A desk and chair, some trees and crisp clean air. Stars at night. These are the things that invite within you a deeper reflection, more creative thinking, and give birth to new perspectives.

Bringing a group to The Perch so they can focus on their work is the kindest gift you can give to writers and other creatives. The environment where one can work on their projects independently, or share and learn with others about their craft, becomes a sacred space. And The Perch allows for this in a most humble way.

Every cabin has a designated workspace and places for quiet solitude. But one can also enjoy workshops or connecting with others in the barn or around the property. It’s easy to find a tree or find a bench where you can just sit and let the inspiration flow.

We have some great food options for your guests: our marvelous private chef can customize the meals for your entire retreat, or you can mix and match with local caterers, food trucks, BBQ, etc.

A two-night retreat at The Perch includes a full buyout of our cabins, the grounds and the barn, plus cabin cleaning. Retreat packages start at $11,000. Additional nights are $1200 per night.

Never organized a retreat and don’t know where to start?
Our Intro Package is an easy option, where guests book their cabins directly through us. We can help you curate the agenda, and work out an easy payment schedule. This option is $6000 for a two night retreat.

Special packages for smaller groups of from 8 to 18 people are also available.

Like most of us, I spend my days screeching from task to task. One of the artistic rhythms I've found to be essential is regular retreats—a day or two away to turn down the noise in my mind and settle into my body. Getting away helps me pay close attention to the world. And that's the best recipe for writing that I know.

Here's what I noticed within the first few hours of my arrival: the clean scent of sap and drying pine needles. Sun-warmed wood on the soles of my feet. A violet twilight settled over the trees.
